Updated: Stratton leads Tiger wrestlers with 7-1 win – Weekend wrestling

The West Liberty-Salem varsity wrestling team competed at the Northeastern Duals Friday and Saturday.

Major Stratton won the 195 lb weight class with a 7-1 record.

Five of Stratton's wins came by pin.

Zayne Reed had 4 pins at the tournament.

Trenton Douthwaite recorded 2 pins.

Austin VanHoose added a pin for the Tigers.

WL-S will wrestle at Greeneview on December 12th.

Bellefontaine competed at the Bob Schwab Classic at Bishop-Fenwick High School on Saturday.

The Chieftains had six individual placers, including three finalists and two individual champions. Team scores were not available.

Dawson Miller won the 170 lb weight class and C.J. Cook won the 195 lb weight class.

Bruno Pattison finished runner-up at 220.

Garrett Gross placed fourth at 182, while Noah Yoesting was fifth at 152 and Josh Eckhoff was fifth at 145.

Ryan Stuhleimmer placed fourth at 170 in the junior varsity tournament.

Bellefontaine competes in the Logan County tri-meet on Thursday and hosts the Jimmy Mac Duals on Saturday at 9:30 a.m.

Benjamin Logan wrestled at the Jimmy McCracken Invitational at Sidney High School on Saturday.

Cole Houser won the 138 lb class.

He recorded his 100th career win with a pin against Riley Shade from Greenville High School.

Joel Abbott was fourth at 132.

Noah Clark finished fifth at 182.

The Bellefontaine Middle School wrestling team finished 6th out of 16 teams at the Milton-Union Jr. Bulldog meet.

Tucker Newland (122 lbs) finished 2nd place going 3-1.

Trent Kelly (134 lbs) finished 2nd place going 3-1.

Tanner Harte (205 lbs) finished in 3rd place going 5-1.

Chelsea Horsley (98 lbs) finished 4th place going 3-2.

Skylar Kennedy was 2-2 (116 lbs).

Hayden Overly (128 lbs) and Izach Jenkins (160 lbs) each won a match.
