Area basketball teams saw action Thursday evening.

The West Liberty-Salem varsity girls edged Jonathan Alder 52-51.

Senior guard Taylor Lauck had 18 points and 4 steals.

Gabby Hollar added 13 points.

The JV Lady Tigers fell 42-27.

Savannah Weaver had 10 points and Mya King added 8 points.

The Riverside varsity girls lost at Upper Scioto Valley 47-41 in overtime.

Shelby Giles had 26 points and 9 rebounds.

Marissa Davis grabbed 13 rebounds.

The Lady Pirates are 0-2.

The Riverside JV girls beat Upper Scioto Valley 19-11.

Macie Manahan scored 6 points.

The Benjamin Logan varsity girls fell at North Union 54-33.

Nikki Current tallied 11 points and 6 rebounds.

The JV Lady Raiders lost 46-20.

Katelyn Shellenberger and Kennedy Parker each scored 8 points.

Benjamin Logan (2-1) will host Kenton on Saturday. The JV game starts at noon.

The Indian Lake varsity girls lost at Fairlawn 57-33.

Jenni Kaffenbarger had 6 points and 8 rebounds.

Bethany Golliday added 4 points and 4 steals.

The Lakers are 1-1.

The Bellefontaine varsity girls fell to visiting Anna 62-21.

The Chiefs are 1-1.

The Calvary Christian Lady Spartans beat Monclova 58-26.

Elisha Carter recorded 19 points and 8 steals, Katie Thompson tallied 16 points and 10 rebounds, and Joy Brandt contributed 6 points.

The Lady Spartans improve to 3-0.

Jr. High finals:

The West Liberty-Salem 8th grade girls steamrolled Northeastern 54-3.

Emily Hollar recorded 17 points, Gabby Williams tallied 7 points, and Mandilyn Weaver added 6 points and 7 rebounds.

The West Liberty-Salem 7th grade girls topped Northeastern 18-10.

Ayva Stewart totaled 12 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 steals.

Kenzie Bahan grabbed 7 rebounds.

Kayla Cole delivered 4 assists.

The Lady Tigers will host Mechanicsburg Monday.

The Indian Lake Jr. High girls lost to Northridge 26-23.

The Lakers will battle Jackson Center on Saturday.

The Bellefontaine 8th grade girls edged Graham 22-20.

Tayteum Vigansky hit the game-winning basket with 7 seconds remaining.

Carmen Shumaker scored 7 points and Emma Middaugh had 6 points.

The Bellefontaine 7th grade girls lost to Graham 31-11.

Aubrey Hudson had 5 points.

The Lady Chiefs will visit Benjamin Logan on Monday.

The Riverside 7th grade boys lost to Bradford 26-20.

Walker Whitaker recorded 8 points, Isaiah Lloyd tallied 7 points, and Simon Godwin added 5 points.

The 7th grade Pirates fall to 0-2.

Both teams will travel to Benjamin Logan Saturday.
