Carter's double-double leads Calvary Christian to season-opening win

The Calvary Christian varsity girls basketball team ran past the Bowling Green Lions 47-14 Saturday night in their season opener.

The Spartans jumped out to a 21-5 lead after one quarter.

Freshman guard Elisha Carter recorded a double-double with 21 points and 11 steals.

Senior co-captain Katie Thompson had 10 points and 9 rebounds.

Sophomores Mataya Penhorwood and Ellie Young shined on defense.

The Spartans had 28 steals.

Calvary Christian returns to the court on November 28th at Union Station.
