Zanesfield Petanque Club well represented in world competition

Zanesfield Petanque Club members Mohamed Boulahoual and Justin Bo Johns traveled to the Petanque Amelia Island Open this past weekend in Fernandina Beach, Florida. 178 doubles teams from 19 different countries with 8 Major World Champions made up the competition.

After Saturday play. Boulahoual and partner Yousseff Hassoune (New York) were 5-0 and ranked #19. Johns and Tom Leon (Amelia) were 2-3 and ranked #105. The top 32 played in the Main Concour.

Team Boulahoual lost their their first game to current Multiple World Champion Dylan Rocher (France) in the Main Concour, which dropped them to Concour AA. They won their next 4 games to win the Final of Concour AA.

Team Johns was put in Consolante B. They won 4 straight to reach the Final but lost to a team from Canada.
