Heartland raises money for local charities through annual auction (Audio & video included)

Heartland of Bellefontaine conducted its annual Christmas Auction Thursday night.

After years of being called the Christmas Tree Auction, the name was changed because more Pinterest-type items have been entering the auction.

This year trees, wreaths, sleds, elves, candy, and blankets were among the many items auctioned off by Bud Jackson.

The event raised just over $4,300 for two local charities. This year Heartland chose Shop with a Cop and the United Way of Logan County.

Heartland holds the event because the organization believes in giving back to the community.

Jackson explains why he auctions off the items each year.

Heartland Admissions Director Jenny Jones discusses the auction.
