Record crowd entertained by Hometown Christmas Parade (Audio & video included)

Local residents crowded into downtown Bellefontaine Friday evening to welcome the arrival of Santa Claus in the annual parade to kick off the Christmas season.

A record crowd watched the parade make its way down Main Street.

40 entrants participated, including marching bands from Bellefontaine and Benjamin Logan along with several businesses and churches.

The parade was sponsored by Citizens Federal Savings & Loan.

Santa arrived on the Bobcat Multiworks float, then met with children at the Holland Theatre.

Bellefontaine Mayor Ben Stahler was the grand marshal.

The parade was broadcast live on 98.3 WPKO.

The top float award was presented to Logan County Fair Royalty.

Honorable mention went to Bangs Salon, Honda Transmission Manufacturing, and Bobcat Multiworks.

The parade was coordinated by Ben Joseph from Belle Printing.
